Students perform Beauty and the Beast

Mamquam Grade 7 students have been rehearsing every spare moment for their upcoming musical performance of the Beauty and the Beast.

Over two dozen students have been working through lunch, before school and even during class time to put on a full scale musical. They will be presenting this show on Friday, May 28 at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, June 1 at 1:30 and 7 p.m. The public is very welcome at any of these shows, and in fact the students would love the support.

I, along with an old friend, Rose Mack of New Westminster have just returned from a Panama Canal cruise aboard the Sea Princess. The majority of the passengers were British and American with only 50 from Canada. I celebrated my birthday on board with Rose and two other English couples I had asked to join us at dinner. To my surprise, William and Barbara Boys arrived at the dining room with a long stem rose, beautiful card and champagne for us all to share. It's a birthday I'll not soon forget! This trip was courtesy of Rose's daughter Sharon Mack. Thanks so much Sharon.
