This special event is ongoing until Saturday (March 30) with train departures starting at 1 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. There are many other activities planned including crafts, bouncy castle and kid's tattoos. Tickets cost $25 and you are asked to arrive 30 minutes before the train departs. St. John's Anglican Church and the West Coast Railway Heritage Park is co-sponsoring an Ivan Sayers "Belles and Whistles Fashion Show" at the park on April 20.

The Hilltop House Support Society (HTHSS) is planning to have a table at the fashion show and is asking anyone with old purses that have been well cared for to consider donating them as money raised through the sale of the purses will go to supporting the residents of Hilltop House. There will be a drop-off box at the Seniors Centre for the purses, or for more information, please call Donna at (604) 898-2722.

The Shannon Falls Retirement Residence on Third Avenue is holding a Community Tea and Easter egg hunt on Thursday (March 28) at 2:30 p.m. No registration is required and there is no charge for this event. This is a time to visit the residents and enjoy light refreshments.

Seniors are reminded to pick up tickets for the theme luncheon (Easter) at the Seniors Centre on Thursday (March 28) at 11:45 a.m. It includes glazed ham, scalloped potatoes and all the trimmings for $9 members and $10 non-members. Beginner Acrylic Painting is offered at the Seniors Centre and taught by Toby Jaxon. He teaches this art class tailored to beginner artists with minimal painting experience and those with limited access to supplies. The dates are Saturdays from April 6 to May 4 and the cost is $50 and most supplies are included in the fee. Register at the Centre or at the Brennan Park Recreation Centre.

Do plan on attending Between Shifts performance of the play Calendar Girls and the dates are Thursday (March 28) and Saturday (March 30) and the following week from April 3 to 6 at the Eagle Eye Theatre with the doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the play at 8 p.m. Tickets at $20 adults and $15 seniors and students are available at Billie's Flower House and Two Birds Eatery.

The popular band The Paperboys will be on stage at the Brackendale Art Gallery on Saturday (March 23) at 8 p.m. Tickets at $20 each are available at the gallery or at Xocolatl.

Another course starting at the Senior Centre is a beginner level Spanish program that is focused on the practical use of the Spanish language. The course will run from April 4 to May 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and the fee will be $128 plus tax.

Registrations are now being taken at the Seniors Centre for the next session of sit and stand moderate, and sit and stand mild exercise classes running from April to June and they are held each Monday and Wednesday mornings.

The judging for the transportation-themed Lego creation takes place at the Britannia Mine Museum on Sunday (March 24) at 2 p.m.
