While I generally support your decisions on council, I'm very disappointed with your decision to solicit climbers in putting up a banner on the Chief ["Climbers achieve great heights for gold medalist," The Chief, Feb. 26].
The reason for the banneris irrelevant. Mr. Maddaloni, in his ignorance,started what now appears to be a craze thatyou have happily continued.
The surrounding environment is what makes Squamish great, and the Chief is the "gold medal" of our environment.
Please don't bring the Chief intoSquamish'ssad declining trend of billboards, strip malls and box stores.
