Traffic jam no fun

If anyone like me was stuck Sunday (Sept. 21) because of the accident in Britannia Beach and was trying to get home to Valleycliffe you will understand my problem. There is no way to access Valleycliffe going south.

If anyone like me was stuck Sunday (Sept. 21) because of the accident in Britannia Beach and was trying to get home to Valleycliffe you will understand my problem. There is no way to access Valleycliffe going south. You simply can’t get there!

The district is talking about a truck route along Seventh Avenue. Well that’s not going to work either. This town will continue to grow whether you like it or not, and the present access to downtown is a nightmare.

How many rear-enders have you seen on Cleveland Avenue trying to go south on the highway? Now is the time to think ahead. What is needed is another bridge across the Blind Channel with an overpass out of Valleycliffe. Westway Avenue is getting busier every year since I have lived here.

Local council must look forward at this problem so we don’t end up with Vancouver’s problems such as the Pattullo Bridge and the Deas Island tunnel, both of which should have been dealt with 25 years ago! Start talking to the Ministry of Transportation now, not later.
