Tonight (Oct. 28) the Eagle Eye Theatre will probably be filled to capacity for the Spirit of Squeamish as presented by the Howe Sound Performing Arts Association and will display the talents of many young people. Admission is by donation and the concert begins at 7 p.m.

Pearl's and the Howe Sound Women's Centre are the proud recipients of the Inside Edge Challenge. The project was selected for the digital barn raising to be held at the Squamish Adventure Centre tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 29) from noon to 4 p.m. The day includes a silent auction from 1 to 3 p.m. and for the children, ballooning and face painting. A wine and cheese reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.

The Squamish Women's Health Network and the Squamish Public Library are pleased to present Befriending Your Body: How to End the War with Food and Your Body. This is a topic that many women struggle with and at this gathering, learn how to transform your relationship to food and your body. It will be held at the Squamish Library on Thursday (Nov. 3) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and admission is free. The facilitator is Helen Croza, a somatic psychotherapist specializing in women's health, lifestyle and health issues.

The Squamish Food Bank will distribute grocery hampers from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Alano Club on Third Avenue on Wednesday (Nov. 2).

Tickets for the annual Senior Citizens Christmas Banquet go on sale on Tuesday (Nov. 1) at $15 each and cash only please. This event on Friday (Dec. 2) is hosted by the District of Squamish and the Squamish Seniors Centre Society. The evening includes cocktails at 5:30 p.m. - no-host bar and dinner at 6 p.m. and, entertainment, music and dancing will make for a wonderful evening. Tickets will be redeemable until Nov. 30.

The People of St. John's Anglican Church on Diamond Road have been working hard this year to pay for replacing a very leaky roof and damaged walls. On Oct. 15, the church hosted a Harvest Moon Dance, which turned out to be a successful fundraiser and a whole lot of fun. St. John's was blessed with many generous sponsors. George MacKenzie and his versatile band, Dr. D and the Soul Demons, donated their considerable talent to entertain people young and old with fabulous music to dance to.

Enter the Twilight Zone if you dare! The French Immersion Program is again hosting its annual Halloween dance and activity night, but at a new location. It takes place tonight (Oct. 28) from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Squamish Elementary gym. All students in Grades 4 through 7 are invited to attend this extraordinary, supernatural event, a fundraiser for the Grade 5 French Immersion classes' upcoming week at the North Vancouver Outdoor School. Tickets are $5 each and available at the door. Come dressed in your best costume or just as yourself - anything goes in the Twilight Zone.
