Trapping opposed

EDITOR, I disagree with Oliver Busby's recommendation of trapping beavers ("Beaver trapping recommended," The Chief, Jan. 14). Hopefully council does the right thing and disregards the recommendation and brings the beavers back to Valleycliffe.

EDITOR,

I disagree with Oliver Busby's recommendation of trapping beavers ("Beaver trapping recommended," The Chief, Jan. 14). Hopefully council does the right thing and disregards the recommendation and brings the beavers back to Valleycliffe.

Longtime residents say the beavers have been here for 30 years.

They have disappeared about one year ago. What is Oliver Busby talking about with "safety" and "human health?" A beaver is not going to cause a car accident.

As for "human health," everyone used to get great joy from watching the beavers on their evening walks. It used to be very nice to watch them and it was something to look forward to.

Everyone loves these animals and we want them to stay. If you talk to 1,000 people, there may be one or two who don't like beavers.
