EDITOR,
remembering the cherry blossoms
at Stan Clarke Park
brings tears.
I just wanted to say that the beautiful cherry trees that once scattered their perfect blossoms around Stan Clarke Park are not forgotten and are sadly missed this spring.
It is truly obvious now that the changes have been made to the park, that the cherry trees' removal was completely unnecessary.
The park, without the spring glory of the cherry blossoms, is left quite barren and colourless.
This time last year, and for over 30 years before, the pink blossoms trickled from children's sleeves and painted the promise of spring.
It was a senseless loss. But I suppose that is someone's definition of progress.
