Why not SAM?

Re: Sam the Axe Man,

Your reluctance to acknowledge the industry that once was, is to say the least, shameful! Visitors would stop to have pictures taken with Sam. In doing so, would learn a little of Squamish history and be interested to stay and have a look around.

Many of the trails that cyclists and hikers use, and the other valleys we have access to for recreation are thanks to logging. Sam was at least giving a salute to that industry and the men and women who worked in it. I won't even mention the beautiful storybooks that seem to be a well-kept secret. (I guess I mentioned them.)

Let's be proud of our heritage. Raise a monument of some kind. Why not Sam?
