Mayor and council,
Re: GAS ["Council stands united against GAS," The Chief, April 23].
Approximately 40 years ago I toured the proposed GAS development area in the company of one of the then developers operating as Garibaldi Glacier Resorts.
I became convinced the development was not a good idea at that time; it seems an even worse idea in the climatic and financial world of today.
I commend council for their unanimous rejection of GAS, which I believe would prove to be an aesthetic, environmental and financial disaster for the district, its residents, taxpayers and visitors.
1950's dreaming doesn't work in 2010.
