The Squamish Community Foundation is holding a reception and presentation in the Squamish Adventure Centre tonight (Thursday, Oct. 10) at 7 p.m. for those non-profit organizations who are grant recipients this year. The public is welcome to attend.
"Speak Up Women!" involves two workshops to give women confidence and skills when speaking in public. It will be held at the Howe Sound Women's Centre (HSWC) on Tuesdays (Oct. 15 and 22) from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. It is sponsored by the Squamish Hot Spot in partnership with the HSWC. The facilitator will be trainer Heather Donaldson, who is a certified toast master speaker. A Digital Photography Skills Course is held each Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the seniors centre and each week until Dec. 4. The class is being taught by local photographer Bri Oliver, and will cover photo critique, lessons, hands-on practice, homework and a final project. The Mystery of the Magic Pumpkin unfolds at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park from Oct. 24 to 30.
