A derelict boathouse has been removed from the shore of Cattermole Slough. The structure was moved from the slough to Third Avenue by provincial government staff earlier this week. There, it will be dismantled and then hauled away by District of Squamish Public Works staff. "The District's Marine Action Strategy (MASt) was developed to support shared leadership in proactively addressing local marine issues such as unauthorized mooring and derelict vessels," reads a District news release. "In a complex environment with many jurisdictions and interests, this current effort highlights the benefits of co-ordinating with partner agencies in keeping our shorelines clean for marine ecosystem protection and the benefit of our community."
