Squamish baseball players are sliding into home with a new win under their caps. The BC Minor Baseball tournament over the Aug. 1 to 4 weekend saw the North Shore Baseball Association's 11U AA Bombers capture the provincial banner — the association's first since it launched in 2017.

Noah and Levi Corrente, Squamish brothers, were among the six teammates who also took home MVP awards for the game.

The team played in Parksville, where they declared a come from behind victory against the host team. They followed with three more victories for the round-robin. Then on Sunday, the Bombers took the semi-finals against Ladner. They faced the home team, Oceanside, again for the final game — and succeeded with 10-2.

"Our coaches and parents are amazed at how much the boys have grown as players and how they came together as a team," head coach Chris Vaillancourt said in a press release.  "It  was remarkable to watch and very special to be a part of this."

Players from Squamish were also on the North Shore Baseball Association's 11U A and 15UAA teams in the tournament.
