Man who took daughters from Salmon Arm has been arrested, well-being of teenaged sisters confirmed

Caleb Gerbrandt has been arrested and the well-being of his daughters has been confirmed.

Salmon Arm RCMP said a man who fled the Shuswap community with his teenaged daughters has been arrested in Ontario.

Caleb Gerbrandt has been arrested and the well-being of his daughters has been confirmed, police said in a press release.

“Salmon Arm RCMP received confirmation from its partners in Ontario that Caleb had been located and arrested and will be returned to British Columbia at a later date to answer to the charges before him.”

Gerbrandt, 40, and daughters Eliyah, 14, and Avery, 13, went missing from his home in Salmon Arm on Jan. 21.

At the time, they were believed to be heading to the Lower Mainland or Vancouver Island area.

Police said Gerbrandt was recently charged with sexual interference and sexual assault on a minor, and both daughters were to be staying at their grandparents' in Salmon Arm.
