People gathered at Junction Park and O'Siyam Pavilion with music, food and games to celebrate a month-long volunteering event raising awareness and funds for the Sea to Sky Hospice Society.

Mark Sky will embark on a human-powered, 20-month trip, during which he hopes to raise $24,000 for charity.

The parade is scheduled for June 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and celebrates the martyrdom of the fifth Guru, Guru Arjun Dev Ji.
