Obituary: Diana Merritt

She spent many years raising her own family in Squamish before moving to 100 Mile and finally to Campbell River.

Diana Merritt, aged 67, passed away on Dec. 10th, 2022, in Campbell River, B.C., after a courageous battle with cancer.

Diana is survived by her long-time partner Bev Anderson; her children, Jennifer, Robyn, Jillian, Kevin, and Samantha; her step-daughters Sam, Erin, and Corey; her sisters, Adele, Karen, Susan, and her brother Bob, her grandchildren Finn, Cassidy, Brandon, Claire, Adaen, Elise, Avery, Lily, Tatum, Isla and Park.

Additionally, Diana is survived by another nine step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Diana was born in 1955 in Seattle, Washington, and moved with her family to Vancouver, B.C. in 1963.

She spent many years raising her own family in Squamish before moving to 100 Mile and finally to Campbell River.

Diana was extremely proud of her children, the "fab five," and of her many grandchildren.

She loved baking, felting, crafting, and the particular highlight of hobby farming with her sheep.

Diana enjoyed the company of many family members and friends and constant card and companionship from Bev and staff at the Campbell River Hospital during her final weeks. She will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Jan. 5th, 2023, at the Campbell River United Church.
