Aug. 24th 1930 to Dec. 4th 2022

Surrounded by the love of her family, as the sun began to set on the afternoon of Dec. 4th, Yvonne left this world. Together again, as they were meant to be, Yvonne went to rejoin her husband and soulmate Allen.

Yvonne and Allen met as young adults and knew immediately they were meant to be together.

They married in 1950 in Edgewater, B.C., followed by the birth of their sons Wesley, born in 1953 (Carole) and Roy, born in 1956 (Kathy deceased) (Janice). Yvonne is also survived by three grandchildren and their families: Ora (Leah) (Aiden, Rylan, Cole), Aaron (Rachel) (Isabelle), and Tamara (Stephan) (Ella and Alyssa).

Living a full and vibrant life for 92 years, Yvonne never ceased to be on the go, relishing in her family and volunteering in the community.

Nothing made her happier that putting a smile on someone's face and letting them know that someone cared for them.

Yvonne and Allen were long-time Legion members. They could be seen selling poppies and were part of the honour guard for Remembrance Day ceremonies. Yvonne was a committed volunteer at the curling rink, known for her skill at managing the ice sheet schedule. She also volunteered at Hilltop House, where she loved to help with Friday night dinners.

During her final year, Yvonne moved to full-time care at Hilltop House in Squamish. In her last few days, her great-granddaughter asked for advice. She replied, "Be Happy, Be Kind, and Be the Boss of Yourself" – an example of how Yvonne lived her own life.

The family extends deep appreciation to Dr. Larry Klein for his support and care of Yvonne, especially in the last few weeks and days. We would also like to thank Dr.Vanzella and Dr. Mah.

We wish a loving goodbye to Mom, Mum, Gramma, Gramma Yvonne, Auntie, and dear friend to the many people she touched with her heart.

The family kindly requests no flowers. Yvonne would have been grateful for donations to Hilltop House Society at www.hilltophousesupportsociety.org/donate or to a charity of choice.

A Celebration of Life for Yvonne will take place in the spring of 2023 in Squamish.
