Obituary: Mary MacGregor

'She loved meeting and talking to people. Later, she and Lewis moved to Squamish, and finally, Mary moved to Surrey for her final years.'

Oct. 28, 1924, to Dec.30, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, who quietly went to rest.

She is predeceased by husband Lewis and brother Nick and is survived by her children: Jesse, Laurie, Robert, Bonnie and Terry; grandchildren: Bernie, Kaitlan, Kirsten, Marlee, Cole, Clint; great-grandchildren: Mitchell and Audrey; great-great-grandchildren Luno and Alice.

Mary was born in Chilliwack, B. C. but later moved to Vancouver. After graduating from secretary school, Mom joined the war effort and became a WREN.

She was posted to Newfoundland, where she met her future husband, Lewis. After the war, they married and lived in Vancouver, where they raised their children.

Mary did a lot of volunteer work for church, school and various charities.

She loved meeting and talking to people. Later, she and Lewis moved to Squamish, and finally, Mary moved to Surrey for her final years. She enjoyed travelling and was a real foodie, always keen to try something new. She loved entertaining and was planning parties to the end. Mary loved life but loved her family most of all.

A heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Kinsman Lodge in Surrey for the wonderful love and attention they gave Mom.
