Do you watch the Super Bowl? Who will win this year? We have a poll at squamishchief.com.

Looking for somewhere to catch the Super Bowl in Squamish? Lucky for you, there are a lot of options.

Before getting to all the places to see it, the Super Bowl matchup this year is between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles and will be starting at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 12.

For the first time in NFL history, two Black starting quarterbacks — Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts — are facing each other in the big game. Also for the first time in history, two brothers — Travis and Jason Kelce — will oppose each other.

Shortly after beating the Cincinnati Bengals to punch his ticket to the Super Bowl, Travis Kelce said of the upcoming matchup, “My mom can’t lose.”

“I’ll just leave it at that,” he said with a smirk.

Both brothers have also already won a Super Bowl: Travis in 2020 and Jason in 2018 with these same two teams.

And, even if you’re not necessarily the biggest NFL fan, the halftime show is headlined by Rihanna and very few details of the performance have leaked so the stage is set to be a stunner.

Several businesses in Squamish have already promoted their Super Bowl offerings.

  • Peckinpah and F as in Frank are teaming up to bring a Super Bowl pop-up at Peckinpah from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on game day. F as in Frank wrote on Instagram that handpicked vintage goods would be available to purchase.
  • The Backyard in Valleycliffe posted that it is offering $5 drinks, $9 wings, $10 burgers and $15 pizza for the big game.
  • Match Eatery and Public House wrote on Facebook that it will be doing half-off pizzas plus hosting live music by DJ Tyler Johnson before the game.
  • The Cleveland Tavern posted to Instagram that they will have beer, burgers and prizes as part of the Super Bowl.
  • The Watershed Grill says that it will have $5 beers and many food options including a $23 BBQ feast after 3 p.m.
  • Norman Rudy’s also says it will have food and drink specials available for the game.

Other local options that will likely show the Super Bowl are Cork and Craft Taphouse, Shady Tree Pub, Howe Sound Inn & Brewing or The Copper Coil Still and Grill.

Keep an eye on their social media to see if they will be having any specials.
