"Have a wonderful, slightly extended winter break," stated Brooks Secondary School principal Jasmin Marshman, in an email to families of students at 10:16 pm on December 22. "We look forward to welcoming all our students back on Monday, January 9."

Assumption School will also be closing for the day.

Five to 10 centimetres of snow is expected to fall on Friday, December 23, with a chance of freezing rain in the afternoon and evening. The forecast also calls for a high of zero degrees Celsius during the day, dropping to minus eight in the evening.
