See: Squamish event inspires women to explore aviation careers, rain or shine

Rain fails to deter attendees at Glacier Air event on Saturday.

Editor's note: Student reporter Lydia Prosko, of the  Don Ross Middle School newspaper club, covered this event for The Squamish Chief.

The rain didn't stop women from attending the Glacier Air Fly it Forward event at Squamish Airport on Saturday.

Glacier Air and BC Coast 99’s Women of Aviation Day 2024 included presentations, cake, and a tour of the planes and a helicopter at the site.

The event includes a free flight for women and girls who have never been in a small aircraft before, weather permitting.

The goal of the event, which takes place during Women of Aviation Worldwide Week, March 4 to 10, is to expose and inspire women and girls to pursue aviation.
