The concert begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are available at Mostly Books, Billie's Bouquet and Highland Video and possibly at the door at $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students and children.

There is a special matinée recital tomorrow (Feb. 5) at 2 p.m. and this would be an ideal time for seniors and those who don't like to go out at night to attend. The ticket prices are $10 for adults, seniors and students, and $8 for children.



Dress Red is an important fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and the Yukon during the month of February. The campaign in Squamish is on Friday, Feb. 11 when banks, credit unions, municipal hall, post offices, the hospital, forestry companies and many businesses and organizations Dress Red and purchase a heart button. The organizer for this event is Karen Vanzella and she would appreciate hearing from those wishing to participate at 604-898-5682. Individuals visiting any of the businesses involved are also welcome to purchase a button. Funds go towards life-saving stroke research and education programs including the Stroke Recovery Association of B.C.



It is time once again for the Squamish Food Bank distribution day on Wednesday (Feb. 9) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Trinity Hall at Squamish United Church on Fourth Avenue.



Fulfilling an acute need at Hilltop House, the Women's Auxiliary to Squamish General Hospital have purchased the following: two bed alarms at $600 each, 13 side rails for beds at $450 per pair, and six raised toilet seats at $100 each. The total is approximately $7,800 and this money is raised through the gift shop at the hospital and the two sales and raffles the WA holds each year. Hats off to all you hard-working volunteers who also keep the gift shop open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check it out as there are some fine gift giving ideas including many hand-sewn and crocheted gifts for babies!



The fourth annual Art Walk will be held on Sept. 17 and 18 and the call for entries for 2005 is March 1. Artists in the Sea to Sky corridor from Britannia Beach to Whistler are invited to enter as there will be shared venues for out of town artists. Between Shifts Theatre and Short Skirt Theatre present Famous Movie Monologues of Love and Lust at Millennium Place in Whistler on Friday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. and at the Eagle Eye Theatre in Squamish on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. Squamish cast members include Camille Clarke and Kathy Daniels. Tickets for the Squamish show are available at Billie's Bouquet.



Ecole Les Aiglons, the Francophone school in Squamish operating out of Garibaldi Highlands Elementary School, is once again putting on the Cabane a Sucre Maple Syrup Festival on March 5. The school is looking for musicians/performers to entertain throughout the event. Eastern Canadian Folk music is preferred but anyone willing to donate their time and their talents is welcome. A reminder to teens that the Teen Book Club at the Squamish Public Library will be held on Tuesday (Feb. 8) from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to discuss the book Perfect Snow by Norah Martin. It's also pizza and pop time so if attending, please call Alison at 604-892-3110.



The U15 Boys soccer team is planning a tour of England from April 21 to May 1. They are planning to hold a garage sale on March 12 and your donations would really be welcomed. If you have items to donate, call Joan at 604-898-3579.

St. John's Anglican Church Women are holding a Valentine's Day luncheon and bake sale on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
