Updated: Four vehicles stolen in Squamish over last week

RCMP are urging locals to secure their cars and remove valuables.

Squamish RCMP say four vehicles have been stolen over the last week.

The cases occurred between March 9 to 16 in various neighbourhoods throughout town.“Our detachment is on heightened awareness and has dedicated resources to catch these thieves through enhanced patrols, and utilizing bait program resources such as tools, bikes, and cars,” said Cpl. Angela Kermer in a news release.

The first case occurred on March 9 near Bailey Street And Third Avenue. Suspects stole a black 2001 ladder Ford truck, B.C. licence plate EK6384, and the words Alta Lake Electric painted in red on the sides.

The next day, a grey 2006 Toyota Sienna with B.C. plate LM108L was taken from the 1900-block of Maple Drive.That same day, a blue 2005 Chevrolet Aveo, B.C. licence plate FG678B, went missing from 38000-block of Hemlock Avenue.

On March 14, thieves stole a grey 2000 F350 truck, B.C. licence plate 3334KV, from the 38000-block of Eaglewind Boulevard.
Squamish RCMP are asking residents to secure their cars, leave no valuables or keys inside, and to report any suspicious activity to police.
