The doors of the Squamish RCMP detachment are being closed to the public.
On March 17, Sea to Sky RCMP offices suspended non-essential services because of COVID-19 concerns. A press release said the decision was based on federal and provincial government regulations.
“The health and safety of our employees and clients is our top priority and we are therefore following the lead of the Canadian public health authorities to take the necessary preventative measures,” the release states.
Anyone calling 911 for help are asked to include information about any flu-like symptoms, recent travel or contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases so officers can take precautions.
Non-emergency complains are still being received by phone, at 604-892-6100 for the Squamish detachment.
