Executive Hotels chosen as flag for Garibaldi Springs

News

The joint venture developers of a new resort hotel in Squamish today announced their hotel flag. Executive Hotels & Resorts, a Vancouver-based company with 18 hotels in California, Washington, B.C. and Alberta, have awarded a franchise to the new hotel planned for the Garibaldi Springs Golf Resort.

Sid Brickman of Garibaldi Springs Development Ltd., one of the joint venture partners in the project, said Executive Hotels and Resorts was a good brand for the golf resort.

"They are a first class company and they have extensive experience with resort hotels," he said.

The Executive Hotel at Garibaldi Springs Resort will be a 110-suite hotel that will feature a Rockwell's Bar & Grill along with an indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a fitness centre for guests.

All suites are strata titled and available for individual ownership and more than 40 per cent of the suites have been sold. Most of the purchasers come from Greater Vancouver and the Sea to Sky corridor with others coming from Alberta, Ontario, Europe and the United States.

Executive Hotels & Resorts franchises or manages a number of resort properties, including the Executive Inn at Whistler Village and the Executive Resort at Kananaskis in the Rockies. Executive also has a number of urban hotel properties including locations in downtown Vancouver, Seattle and San Francisco.

Owners of suites in the Executive Hotel at Garibaldi Springs will be allowed exchange privileges for stays at other Executive Hotels & Resorts properties as well as preferred rates at the adjacent Garibaldi Springs Golf Course in its first full season of play.
