Former Squamish Terminals Ltd. president Ron Anderson passed away on Aug. 2, following a two-year battle with cancer, according to a Squamish Chamber of Commerce news release.
Anderson was a member of the Chamber board for 22 years. “Ron always strongly promoted the Chamber's active involvement in the community,” says the release.
Anderson received the Chamber's (Bill Manson) Citizen of the Year Award in 2015.
Current Terminals’ president Kim Stegeman-Lowe said Anderson will be deeply missed.
“He was a consummate business professional and an advocate for the marine industry for many years; a community builder,” Stegeman-Lowe said. “And for me personally he was a mentor and a friend.”
In his obituary, Anderson was described as a well-respected businessman and prominent community member.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 15 at the CN Roundhouse at the Railway Heritage Park.
