MedWatch expands program

A small plastic vial could save your life - and it's free for seniors over the age of 50. Medwatch is a plastic container, much like a pill container, containing personalized medical information.

A small plastic vial could save your life - and it's free for seniors over the age of 50.

Medwatch is a plastic container, much like a pill container, containing personalized medical information. Forms detailing information including medication, heath store or natural remedies, vitamins and any health issues go into the container and the Medwatch kit goes in the top shelf of the refrigerator.

A sticker goes on the fridge door to alert emergency workers it's there should they visit a home during an emergency situation. Emergency workers don't have to waste time asking questions - they can go straight to the information.

Medwatch is organized by the Women's Auxiliary to Squamish General Hospital, which provides the kits free or by donation through the gift shop at Squamish General Hospital or local pharmacies.
