Man arrested for assault 

A man was arrested for assault after a disturbance involving a man and a woman on the street on Second Avenue on Monday, Aug. 31, Squamish RCMP reported.
 Police discovered there was also a warrant for the man’s arrest in relation to a previous incident of assault with a weapon and uttering threats. 

Park ranger attacked

A charge of assault is being recommended after a man attacked a park ranger on Sunday, Sept. 6, police report.
 The man was angry about a ticket given to him on Garibaldi Lake trail and ripped it up and then assaulted the park ranger by putting him in a headlock and throwing him to the ground, Squamish RCMP said.

House break-in

Money, blank cheques, camping equipment and a mountain bike were stolen in a break and enter in the 2500 block of Lomond Way on Tuesday, Sept.1 while the residents were away, police said. 

The residents returned from vacation to find their house rummaged through. Thieves got into the house through the backyard gates and patio door, police said. Results of a forensic examination are pending.

Theft from vehicle

Personal items including military boots and dog tags, camping equipment, a wooden jewelry box and a steam vacuum cleaner were stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 300 block of Kelvin Grove Way in Lions Bay on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Two reports were also received on Wednesday, Sept. 2 of vehicle break-ins and items stolen at the Shannon Falls parking lot.  

Thefts from vehicles

Three vehicles were broken into and personal items and electronics stolen in the Darrell Bay and Shannon Falls parking lots on Saturday, Sept. 5, according to RCMP.           

Hit and run

Charges of impaired driving and hit and run are being recommended after a collision at Perth Drive on Saturday, Sept. 5. Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and the driver displayed signs of impairment, police said.   

Bad cheque

A landlord residing in the 38100 block of Cleveland Avenue reported on Saturday, Sept. 5, that his tenant paid rent using a fraudulent cheque in the amount of $1,300, police said. The matter is being investigated.
