Two injured in crash
Two drivers were taken to hospital, one with a possible broken neck, the other with a broken hip and fractured skull after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 99 just north of Alice Lake on Wednesday, Oct. 14, Squamish RCMP said.
The accident occurred when a southbound vehicle crossed the centreline and hit the rear of a northbound vehicle, which rolled several times and lost a wheel.
Southbound traffic was delayed for an hour, police said.
Police seize drugs
Three people were arrested and drugs seized on Tuesday, Oct. 13 after officers conducting traffic enforcement stopped a suspicious vehicle on Squamish Valley Road.
Officers smelled marijuana and could see heroin, rock cocaine and an unidentified white powder in the vehicle, police report.
Charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking are being recommended.
Woman arrested in B&E
A woman was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 14 after a break and enter in the 1100 block of Enterprise Way, RCMP reported. The suspect jumped over the fence then entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the secure lot, according to the report.
Police found her nearby and arrested her. Police are recommending the woman face charges of break and enter.
Drunk man causes scene
An intoxicated man who was causing a scene at the Squamish Public Library on Friday, Oct.16 was arrested because he was in breach of conditions and wanted on outstanding warrants in New Westminster, Squamish RCMP said.
Graffiti at school
Squamish RCMP received a report of graffiti at Squamish Elementary School on Buckley Avenue on Thursday, Oct. 15. There have been several incidents of graffiti in the past few weeks, according to Squamish RCMP. This time, the graffiti read: “Enjoy it until it lasts.”
