There may soon be dialogue between PWTransit and striking Unifor transit workers in Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton.

On Feb. 18, PWT, which is contracted by BC Transit to run local buses, said it will be meeting with Unifor Local 114’s lead negotiator sometime next week.

“The employer (PWTransit) reached out to UNIFOR Local 114's lead negotiator and asked if there was any interest by the union to resume bargaining, with the intent that both sides would make an earnest effort and be willing to move off of their positions to try and achieve a reasonable deal,” reads the release from PWT.

“This offer was formally extended on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2022. PWTransit heard back from the Union today, Friday, Feb. 18, 2022. They have agreed and the meeting is proposed to commence sometime next week.”
