Photos: Squamish Days Bed Races bring chaos and costumes to Cleveland Avenue

Day two of the 68th annual Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival brought laughter, competition, and creativity as teams raced decorated hospital beds down Cleveland Avenue.

Day 2 of the 68th annual Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival is done and dusted.

Friday, Aug. 1 saw the ever-popular Squamish Days Bed Races roll down Cleveland Ave. 

Organized by the Squamish Legion, this chaotic and entertaining race features teams in costume pushing hospital beds through a series of obstacles: 

Here's some other aspects of the race: 

  • Teams of five—four pushers and one rider
  • A two-block obstacle course full of surprises, challenges, and teamwork tests
  • Costumes are encouraged, and judged
  • Seven heats total 
  • Prizes for the top three teams and the Best Costumed Team
