No injuries were reported after an SUV jumped the sidewalk and rammed the front of the Edward Jones office on Sunday (March 12) at the Squamish Station Mall.
"We had a car drive through our window," said Sandy Meggyesi, branch office administrator.
Luckily, the offices were not open at the time.
"At least nobody was hurt," she said. "It would have given me a coronary had I been working at the time."
According to Cpl Dace Ritchie of the local RCMP detachment, the accident occurred at 12:34 p.m. as a 35-year-old woman and her 62-year-old passenger were attempting to park the vehicle in a stall in front of the Edward Jones office.
"The brakes on the vehicle apparently failed and she hit the building in front of her, smashing the window in the process," he said. "She then, in a bit of a panic, backed up quickly and backed into the TD Bank building under construction behind."
No injuries were reported and RCMP are testing the vehicle and investigating the incident.
"We are still business as usual," said Meggyesi. "It's a little chilly and there are sheets of plywood blocking the window, but we are definitely able to serve clients.
"We have our own drive-through window," she joked.
