Sports short: Squamish Eagles U11A1 hockey team soars to gold at Ridge Meadows tourney

The taste of sweet victory belongs to this Squamish Eagles hockey team. 

Over the Remembrance Day long weekend, the Squamish’s  U11 A1 Eagles snapped up the gold at the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey tournament. 

Here’s how the series shook out: 

•They played the Semiahmoo Ravens and won 9-1; 

•They beat the Burnaby Winter Club 11-1;’

•They took on the Vancouver Thunder and won 7-1;

•They tackled the Campbell River Tyees, winning  7-1; 

•They silenced the Cowichan capitals 5-3, in the semi finals;

•In the finals, they beat the Campbell River Tyees 9-1.
