COUNCIL CUT: 99 North gets the District’s help

As 99 North Cannabis Store among some others, still hasn’t received provincial licensing approval, Squamish council will be sending a letter of support in hopes of speeding up the process.

Store owner Bryan Raiser made the request to council and said the delay was having a negative impact on business.

He asked council to write a letter asking the province to deal with the cannabis dispensary applications from local businesses before considering creating government stores in Squamish.

Council unanimously voted in favour of doing so.

Raiser also asked them to make a note to the solicitor general calling for uninterrupted safe access to cannabis in the meantime, as there is fear that enforcement may shut down stores that are operating at the moment.

Council also unanimously voted to grant this request.
