A local biker was airlifted to hospital in Vancouver after an incident on the Hot Tuna trail early Saturday afternoon.

Squamish Search and Rescue (SAR) spokesperson BJ Chute said 22 SAR volunteers responded to help rescue the man, whose age is unknown.

“We were able to locate the subject and stabilize him and use a helicopter long line to extricate him to Squamish Airport, where we turned care over to BC Ambulance ground and air ambulance,” Chute said.

Chute said the call was the fifth in the past 36 hours.
