Sleeping man arrested

A sleeping man was arrested for breaking and entering.

Squamish RCMP responded to an alarm at a business on Cleveland Avenue on Nov. 3.

The owner of the business saw the glass front door was smashed and the lights were on.

Police cleared the area and found a man sleeping in the back room.

He was arrested and later released with a court appearance in North Vancouver for January 2019.

Didn’t want to leave hotel

A suspect who wouldn’t pay his hotel bill and refused to leave the building was arrested for alleged fraud and obstruction on Nov. 2.

Officers found the male locked in his room refusing to come out.

Eventually, the suspect left the room and became confrontational with staff and police, RCMP say.

In the lobby, the male continued to refuse to pay and was unco-operative, according to officers.

The suspect was arrested for Fraudulently Obtaining Accommodation and Obstruction.

His court date is expected February 2019 in  North Vancouver.

Suspected pinpad fraud

An employee at the Glenalder business complex reported suspicious purchases to police.

Officers say a group of five attempted to make several purchases over the two day period.

The suspects would use the pinpad, entering up to 16 digits into the machine, say RCMP.

Police say some of the transactions came close to $1,000.

Surveillance footage of the group was obtained and will be released to identify the three men and two women.

The incidents were reported to police on Oct. 29.
