Officers closed the dock as well as the parking lot to further investigate.

Both may remain closed into Monday, according to police.

"Porteau Cove Provincial Park is known as a diving hot spot in the Sea to Sky area and this is not the first time Squamish RCMP have been called due to items located in and around the surrounding waterways," said Cpl. Sascha Banks in a news release Sunday night.  "Thousands and thousands of visitors attend this area all year round for camping, diving, water sports, and just the beautiful surroundings and Squamish RCMP apologize for any inconvenience to the public."

No further information was given about the items found.

The Squamish Chief will continue to update this story if further information becomes available.
