The view from downtown. A smoky haze remains over Squamish as of Friday, Sept. 11.

Didn't there used to be a rock there?

If you're having trouble seeing the Stawamus Chief — it's not you, it's the haze.

Wildfire smoke from the United States continues to make its way up to southern B.C.

This includes Squamish.

For Friday, Environment Canada again issued an alert saying that the air quality will be affected by the fires.

A potential for a "significant push" of smoke throughout the weekend is present, said the agency.

People with respiratory conditions are advised to be careful and avoid strenuous exercise.
