A Squamish man is facing jail time after being sentenced for robbing the Tim Hortons on Progress Way.

Court records show that 32-year-old Christopher Morgado was sentenced on Jan. 10 on a count of breaking and entering and one count of robbery.

“This was a lengthy and complex investigation and because of the diligence of both the frontline officers who attended the initial scene and the investigators who saw through the entirety of the investigation, we now have a conviction on a violent crime that happened in our community,” said Sgt. Jeffrey Shore of the Sea to Sky General Investigation Section in a news release.

Morgado was sentenced to 27 months in jail and is subject to a lifetime firearm prohibition, officers say.

RCMP say incident happened on Dec. 20, 2015, and resulted in the theft of about $9,000.
