EDITOR, No other animal has influenced Canadian history to such a great extent as the beaver. We need to use the alternative solutions to beaver problems rather than extermination of our national animal. We have learned to live with the bears.

EDITOR, The parking lot on Mamquam Road adjacent to, and to the east of, the Squamish Valley Golf and Country Club is used on a year-round basis by the public who include dogs and owners, mothers pushing children in carriages, bird watchers, walkers

Growing up, there were certain myths my mother loved to perpetuate. Because she was my mother I believed them to be true.

EDITOR, As a perpetual dog owner and lover, I'm proud that our "Cleo" (part mastiff, part Lab) is a rescue dog (she would have been killed by her owner had we not taken her into our family).

The civilized world has reacted with shock and revulsion to the revelations surrounding the alleged slaughter of some 100 sled dogs last year by the manager of a company that conducted tours for Outdoor Adventures at Whistler.

EDITOR, Leaving aside for the moment the issue of Paul Lalli using the Council Corner column of the newspaper to pander to Kevin Falcon, I object to the content of his column. ("Falcon delivers for Squamish," The Chief, Jan. 21.
