At best, Arney Lange’s letter (“C is for Country,” Nov. 23, 2023) is Confounding.

In this Century, ‘C’ most Crucially stands for Climate Crisis, Collapse of ecosystems, over-Consumption, Corporate primacy, and the inability of Canadian Citizens to hold either federal or provincial governments accountable to even one emission reduction “ target” Commitment over the course of 28 COP summits. 

The November 2023 United Nations Environment Program report warns that we are “on track for a 2.5 - 2.9 C temperature rise above pre-industrial levels this century“ (wwww.unep.emissions.gap-report) ; in other words, Hell on Earth.
