Police, search & rescue looking for missing Burnaby man

Ryoji Fujita, 37, was last heard from Saturday.

Editor's update: Unfortunately, Fujita's body was discovered on March 20.

 

Burnaby RCMP is asking for help finding a 37-year-old man who hasn’t been heard from since Saturday.

Police believe Ryoji Fujita may have gone hiking at Hat Mountain in Lions Bay on that day, so Lions Bay Search and Rescue is also assisting with the search.

The Burnaby resident is described as a five-foot-six Asian man with a slim build, short black hair and brown eyes.

It is believed he would have been wearing a black North Face jacket, black Marmot snow pants, black North Face hiking boots and carrrying a black backpack and hiking poles, according to a police press release.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen Fujita or have information on his whereabouts to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
