There’s a reason why it may have seemed a little quieter at the Cleveland Gardens development site lately.
A delay has prompted a new general contracting company to take charge of the development.
Atti Group is no longer working on that project, which is located at Cleveland Avenue in downtown.
Alireza Meibodi, one of the owners of the project, said that payments associated with the development will be taken care of in the near future.
“To the best of our knowledge the new company will review the works and the due invoices are planned to be settled accordingly soon,” he wrote in an email to The Chief.
“Unfortunately Cleveland Gardens encountered some delays that were beyond our control, however, we expect to complete the project as scheduled. We look forward to delivering a unique product to our customers and for our project to be a valuable addition to Squamish. We are a hard working team and are trying our best to establish our name as one of the leaders in the development business and have no intention to tarnish our brand in any way possible.”
Meibodi didn’t say what company was taking over, but as of Friday, workers were seen putting up signs for the Lexi Development Group on the property.
Lexi did not respond to a request for comment by press deadline.
The District of Squamish issued a development permit in 2016 to Forough Ghafari-Zedeh and Meibodi for the Cleveland Gardens project.
