A new batch of 134 additional townhouse and fourplex units was approved for the Waterfront, kicking off the start of the second part of the major development.

During the regular council meeting on Dec. 18, councillors approved a development permit for Bosa Properties and Kingswood Properties.

The new units will also be located at 1500 Highway 99, where 88 townhouse units are already under construction.

As there were no variances presented, it sailed through council with no opposition. This decision is considered non-discretionary, so as long as the proposal met all guidelines, it could only be approved — which is what happened.

There will be 18 buildings housing all the units, ranging from four to 10 units per building.
