GB Squamish wins 10 medals

The medal case for Gracie Barra Squamish might be overflowing after a successful showing at the Musashi Kids MMA tournament in Richmond on June 28.

The team took home a total of 10 medals, battling against 15 other teams and more than 100 competitors.

Squamish athletes who won medals included: Mariza Nasu (gold), Hayden Jupista (gold), Flint McKone (silver), Rocky McKone (silver), Evan Nasu (silver), Anton Fesser (silver), Tyco Chiasson (silver), Ashton Thomaidis (silver and bronze) and Jamie Sutherland (bronze).

Sutherland, Chiasson, Thomaidis and Fesser all medaled at their first tournament. 

Both Mariza Nasu and Hayden Jupista went undefeated during the entire tournament, and Mariza battled boys without conceding a single point.
