A Squamish athlete has been crowned the 2019 Provincial Champion for off-road triathlons in her age category by Triathlon BC, following her latest victory.

Zoe Dawson clinched first place in the Dodge City Off-Road Triathlon on Sept. 7.

Dawson placed first among all female competitors during the event, which took place in Cumberland, B.C.

"The wishes of luck worked peeps!" Dawson posted on Instagram.

"That's a wrap for the last #offroadtriathlon of the year! @steamdonkeyracing put on another incredible day - weather was perfect and trails were absolute mint out there. That very much assisted my ability to beat my course time last year! ... and was beyond excited to place 1st female for the second year- and earning the 2019 Provincial Champion for off-road triathlon by @triathlonbc."

She crossed the finish line with a time of 2:43:11.0, a definitive lead over her closest competitors in the overall female category.

Silver medallist Lisa Helmer clocked in a time of 2:58:53.1, while Natalie Ward was third with a time of 3:01:42.0.

Dawson was also the winner among females aged 30 to 34 and placed sixth overall men and women racers combined.

She's is no stranger to success. This would be the second year in a row that Dawson has claimed victory at this event, and she's made headlines for placing first time and again.
