Buckle up and start your engines — the Squamish Beater Rally Cross Club showcased local racing talent on Aug. 24.

The Squamish Mills Log Sort was transformed into the track for the race put on by the Vancouver Subaru Club and the Sea to Sky Rally Club.

This event served as a trial, which may later be turned into a small series.

Its goal was to raise cash for charity.

Drivers raced to benefit Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon and Howe Sound Women's Centre Society.

The winners were as follows:

PRO 4WD - Onur Tezcan 1:02.69

 PRO 2WD - Martin Rowe 1:05.25

 AMA 4WD - Aaron Nijjar 1:07.47

 AMA 2WD - Bryan McCarthy 1:11.85

 SBRCC class - Chuck Bolger 1:05.87
