Jason Blackman-Wulff — Council candidate

I seek your support in the upcoming election on November 15 to ensure that we continue to maintain and improve the quality of life in Squamish as we proactively address the challenges posed by the growth of our town and climate change. 

To achieve this, I see four main priority areas that should be addressed:
1- Active Councillors who link citizens with their government and public service.
2- Smart Growth & Food Security
3- Increased Recreational Infrastructure & Opportunities
4- Economic Diversification

I bring experience in both the private and public sector in the field of Urban Planning and Development. I hold a Master's Degree in Planning from UBC and an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning from Concordia University in Montreal. 

Working for municipal government and provincial government I have seen and learned first-hand how important it is for elected officials to be a key link between the public service and citizens. 

I am currently sit on the District of Squamish Design Advisory Panel, which reviews development applications of significance to advise council as to the design merits of proposed buildings. I am a member of Planners Network, an organization focused progressive planning practices. I am bilingual (Francais/English). On weekends you may find me on the trails walking my two dogs, Jasper and Apollo.
