Arden Smith passed away peacefully on Nov. 17th in his 79th year. He is survived by his daughters Ardelia Thompson, Cheryl Smith, his son Bryan Smith, son in law Douglas Thompson and four grandchildren. Arden was born on Jan. 2, 1944 in Edmonton Alta. to George and Shirley Smith.
One of five children, two sisters Madeleine and Doreen and two brothers Rodney and Dale. Arden grew up in Yellowknife, then travelled where he met his lovely wife, Oralia.
He settled in Squamish B.C. for 46 years.
His main occupation was in the mining industry, where he worked at several mines throughout Canada.
Later, he worked as a nightwatchman on board the Woodfibre Ferry, the MV Garibaldi II.
His family is grateful for the care given to him over the past months by Dr. Jamieson and the staff at Squamish General Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at the Squamish Funeral Chapel on Saturday Dec. 2nd at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local SPCA animal shelter or food bank.
