Many people have wondered lately as to why the paper reports breaking news as soon as it happens.

The mini-bike lane on Hwy 99 at the Porteau Bluffs, is a disaster waiting to happen. Yesterday we came through that narrow section, heading north, with our 26 foot trailer.

There can be times when life can throw us into situations so far beyond our control, we can’t do anything about it. We can only hope for the best. One Squamish resident had to go through just that.

Justin Trudeau is manipulating Canada’s elections to benefit the Liberal Party. He recently introduced legislation that restricts his political opponents from using grassroots fundraising in the lead-up to the next election.

Every morning we learn from the daily newspapers about conflicts in various parts of the world. What we rarely see is the devastating impact these crises have on children and youth, especially girls.

Quality of life: what does that mean to you? Well, we have been living in Squamish since 1979, and we have had a good life. Worked hard, raised our kids and now we are retired.

Running for council is one of the best ways to impact what happens in a community.

Highway congestion is increasingly the greatest challenge to quality of life in Squamish.

I have been on council for seven years now and have decided not to run again. At my age, I have things to do, places to go, and people to meet. My thoughts are with the new faces that will be running in the next election.
