I t is an understatement and becoming cliché to say Squamish is changing. It seems not a week goes by without talk of a new development or initiative in the district. Some changes have caused consternation among residents.

S ummer means music festivals. There was this weekend’s event in Pemberton, and of course everyone was expecting Squamish’s own fest to follow on Pemby’s heels – until it was cancelled, though we’re not entirely sure it’s dead or simply dormant.

The pabulum that the taxpayers are fed is the policing and increased infrastructure costs are what is driving the tax increases. Salaries and wages is without any other costs is over a $1,000 per year.

This council makes big productions about everything. We have drive-thrus, we have distracted driving; council can’t connect the dots. Seems like a no brainer to me and most people I talk to.
